For the last few months, anyone paying attention has heard all about Jessica Simpson’s maternity wardrobe, baby shower, pregnancy fitness routine, etc. Now she’s on her way back to regular clothes. Simpson gave birth to a baby girl on Tuesday. I wonder if the next step might involve a wedding to fiance Eric Johnson? Which would require a trousseau, of course! The singer and fashion designer, Jessica Simpson and her fiance Eric Johnson, who is a football star, welcomed daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson at a Los Angeles hospital on Tuesday morning.
Simpson’s mother Tina and her sister Ashlee were both present well in time for the baby’s arrival.
The little girl weighed nine pounds and 13 ounces, reports UsMagazine.com.
Maxwell is the first baby for 31-year-old Simpson and her 32-year-old fiance Eric Johnson.
The name which was picked by Simpson and Eric was said to be unique and untraditional. It is basically a tribute to the couple’s mums. Maxwell is Johnson’s middle name and the maiden name of his mother, and Drew is Simpson’s mother’s maiden name.
Simpson announced the good news on her official website, saying, “We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received”. “This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!
Few weeks back, there were rumors regarding pregnancy status of Simpson and celebrities like Katy Perry and Chelsea Handler tweeted their concern that whether the singer and fashion designer had given birth yet.
Simpson clarified the misconception in April. She tweeted, “To everyone who keeps congratulating me on the birth of my baby girl. I’m still pregnant!”
Though the couple has been engaged over a year, the wedding is on hold. Simpson and fiance postponed their wedding plans after the news of Simpson’s pregnancy.
After confirmation of her happy news, Simpson was fairly open about her pregnancy and shared details throughout her journey as mom-to-be. Simpson also posed nude and showed a very pregnant belly, on the cover of April issue of Elle’s magazine, and announced that she and Johnson were expecting a daughter.
“I can’t wait to have more kids,” she said in an interview to people.com. “I love being pregnant. I have such an incredible connection with myself and with my body that I’ve never had before.”
According to report of usmagazine.com, Simpson’s mom Tina was overheard talking about her little grandchild at Starbucks in Los Angeles .She was accompanied by her family members, she was heard saying, “Maxwell is so precious and peaceful.”
The witness reported that the whole group seemed very happy and they were having a good time.
