What’s up? Are you all ready for Fashion Week?
So listen, I spent the weekend catching up on your hefty September issues, and I must say I felt a little let down. Baffled, even. But I’m sure you won’t mind a few quibbles from a regular old reader, now that you all are doing so well in ad pages again. (Nothing says success like the words “biggest issue ever” on a cover, eh, Harper’s Bazaar?)

In one way, this has been a season about a top and a bottom, and a great coat. Alexander Wang made that point at Balenciaga. But it took Phoebe Philo to turn basics into high fashion.
Within moments of the start of her Celine show on Sunday, she had bleary-eyed editors and other guests — including Stella Tennant and Amanda Harlech, who works with Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel — salivating for a sweater and a skirt.

We already thought Joshua Jackson and Cory Monteith were adorable, but both pretty much secured their “Boyfriend of the Year” awards when they accompanied their ladies to Paris Fashion Week. Seriously — that’s love.
Jackson escorted longtime girlfriend (maybe fiancee?) Diane Kruger to the Chanel Haute Couture show at the Grand Palais on Tuesday, complementing the actress’s blue dress with a blue shirt of his own. The Fringe star is used to the fashion circuit, however; he’s regularly seen with Kruger at shows and festivals around the world.

Milan Men’s Fashion Week, showing collections for spring-summer 2013, got underway on Saturday with some colorful designs, like those shown here by Burberry Prorsum. Elsewhere in Milan, the guys of the hit show “Gossip Girl” made a splash. Chace Crawford sat in the front row of the Versace show on Saturday — along with Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen among others — and Ed Westwick modeled on the Philipp Plein catwalk that same night.

Montreal Fashion Week is bidding adieu to its old stomping grounds for a brand new home.
The next edition of the semi-annual fashion showcase will be held Sept. 4-7 at Arsenal, a complex dedicated to contemporary art.
The 3,800-square-metre industrial boatyard from the turn of the century currently houses an exhibition hall dedicated to private collections and includes a main hall featuring about 1,860 square metres of unobstructed space.

Wellington Fashion Week’s first high-fashion group show went off with a bang this evening in the beautiful Old Museum Great Hall. With a sell-out crowd, hundreds delighted in the SS12/13 and current collections of Taylor Boutique, moochi, Trelise Cooper, Ashley Fogel, Hermione Flynn, Lucy McIntosh, Mardle and Nouveau.
The action commenced backstage with cameras and film crew weaving through long limbed models, as Hair Director Michael Beel for Wella, and make-up director Olivia Wild, worked their magic capture the essence of high-fashion and edgy femininity.
